 Navigating Office Politics

Office politics are an inevitable part of organisational life – and during times of change, during restructuring or when there are people competing for opportunities – they can increase in their intensity.  Roffey Park’s Management Agenda 2009 reports that 53% of managers feel that organisational politics are a major cause of stress at work – but there is another view to them.

This one day programme will explore how to use political behaviour more constructively particularly when trying to get things done.  Participants will use a range of tools and techniques to establish the type of political “animal” they are and how this relates to their behaviour in the office.  The programme will cover:

 ·       What do we mean by political intelligence and how can you work with political power?

·        When are politics viewed as a positive influence within and organisation?

·        How can you develop new political strategies and use these to influence more effectively?

·        How can managers create the right environment for positive political behaviour?

This one day programme is ideal for managers who want to raise their awareness of what it means to be politically intelligent and to develop enhanced political strategies.
